XOver-Hey Naruto 2

"Man Naruto, why do you put up with that?" Gerald wanted to know as the boys headed to sit in other places. "She's as bad as Helga."

"Are you kidding? Helga's worse, 'cause she's the last of the Kawaki clan!" Kiba Inuzuka pointed out.

"Come on, they're not that bad!" Naruto reasoned.

"What a drag." Shikamaru Nara rolled his eyes, and glanced at the orange-clad blonde boy. "By the way, what are you doing here, Naruto? This is for graduating students, you know."

"Of course I know that! But I passed, Iruka-sensei said so!" Naruto gave a toothy grinned. "Believe it!"

"Whatever." Shikamaru took a seat near Ino, shaking his head.

"All right class, settle down!" Iruka called out as he came into the classroom, gesturing for everyone to sit down. Once they were quiet and seated, he addressed them, holding a few papers in his hand. "Now, as you all know, today is the orientation of you new Genin, and to properly get you started in moving forward as a ninja. You will all be assigned into squads, squads of three. This is to maintain balance between your individual talents and skills, good or bad."

"Well! If that's the case, one of us will get paired with Sasuke!" Ino declared, egging Sakura on.

"And that's going to be ME!" Sakura informed her, turning around to look at her. "Because true love conquers all!"

"You ladies are delusional. That will be me. There's no way Iruka-sensei won't recognize my amazing talents. Daddy told me so himself." Rhonda crowed, winking at both girls.

"Aww, but I wanted to be on the same team as Sasuke!" Nadine whined.

"Nadine, you know better." Rhonda said, glowering.

"S-Sorry." Nadine looked down in shame.

Who am I gonna end up with? Naruto thought, getting more and more nervous by the second. I hope I'm with Sis, and even Sasuke, of course! But what if I don't? Okay, maybe I'll be with either one, and...I don't care, as long as it's not Helga!

Damn, this doesn't look good. What if I'm not put on the same team as Arnold? Helga thought, biting her lip, though appearing nonchalant. Or worse, what if I AM on the same team as Arnold? If that happens, I don't know what I'll do! ...And yet, it would be wonderous! Being able to train and grow stronger as ninjas side-by-side...being able to spend a lot of time together...ohh...what heaven that will be... It'll give me time to get to know him and maybe even have a better chance at telling him my feelings!

"Each squad will be led by a Jounin, who will accompany you on your missions and train you to hone your skills and develop and grow as ninjas. You will be meeting with your squad leaders after lunch." Iruka went on. "I will now read the list of the squads." He looked down at the paper before reading aloud the first team. "Squad 1: Rhonda Kaihaku, Thaddeus Hiryama, and Harold Akimichi."

"WHAT?" Rhonda screeched. This can't be! I'm with the FREAK and the other food boy?

"YES! I am at least with my dear precious!" Thaddeus "Curly" whooped.

Harold just shrugged, eating some potato chips, just as his cousin, Choji, was doing.

"Looks like the other Princess just became the pauper!" Helga taunted, laughing.

"That's one down." Ino smirked. "Sasuke is as good as mine."

"In your dreams, Ino!" Sakura glared.

This went on for a few minutes, with Iruka announcing the list of the squads, which usually left some of them disappointed, or sometimes, actually happy with the arrangement, or sometimes it was half in half.

"Now, Squad 7: Naruto Uzumaki-"

Naruto tensed, waiting anxiously for whoever he'd be assigned to team with.
